Here we go!

Recently there has been a few articles published online about how suboxone had an influence in the recent Charleston shooting. These articles are a good example of how irresponsible people can be when trying to support their particular political or ideological platform. These stories where started by gun rights promoters worried the shooting would impact gun laws. Personally I think gun laws are ridiculous because criminals don’t buy guns in stores but I’ll leave that issue to a whole different blog. The point I’m trying to make is when people point fingers and place blame while ignoring the real issues at hand it just compounds the problem and does nothing in way of finding a solution. There’s no easy answer to the question of why these shootings are happening. It’s obvious that something is broken in our society and it needs to be fixed. We need to stop worrying what the political ramifications are going to be and start worrying about what in our society is creating such hate, anger, and disenfranchisement that a young man picks up a gun and kills innocent people.
